Google Cloud partners are getting all the attention today as the world’s third-largest public cloud provider has made its annual announcement showcasing its top ecosystem contributors.
Google Cloud Next 2023 is taking place this week in San Francisco. Alongside all the generative AI news comes the latest installment of high-achieving Google Cloud partners. You’ll find many familiar, and some perhaps not-so-familiar, names on the list. And it’s not all giant consultancies, either. There’s quite a bit of variety in the size and capabilities of the winning Google Cloud partners.
Google Cloud’s Kevin Ichhpurani
Kevin Ichhpurani, corporate vice president, global partner ecosystem and channels at Google Cloud, debuted all the companies in an Aug. 30 blog. These partners, he said, “have been at the forefront of innovation, helping our customers embrace leading-edge technology to achieve their goals.”
The dozens of Google Cloud partners taking home awards during this week’s Google Cloud Next 2023 event in San Francisco were chosen for their unique capabilities, Ichhpurani added.
“The winners of this year’s award are a testament to the power of creativity, collaboration and customer focus,” he said. “We are proud to partner with such visionary and forward-thinking companies. Our partnerships are critical to the new way to cloud, and we look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together in the future.”
Google’s Sundar Pichai
Google Cloud continues to emphasize its data focus as one of its distinguishing characteristics that set it apart from the other hyperscalers. As such, generative AI has come to the forefront at the vendor, as evidenced by the AI-heavy announcements coming out of the show this week. Google Cloud is aiming to get ahead of what CEO Sundar Pichai called “one of the most profound shifts we’ll see in our lifetime.”
AI, he added, “will touch every sector, every industry, every business function, and significantly change the way we live and work. This isn’t just the future. We are already starting to experience the benefits right now.”
With that in mind, we expect to see a new Google Cloud partners category in 2024, one highlighting the top performers innovating with the company’s AI capabilities. Likely without meaning to do so, Pichai seemed to hint at this forthcoming reality.
“These underlying technologies are helping us transform our products and businesses, and they’ll help you transform yours,” he said.
As Google Cloud Next 2023 hits its stride in its second day, expect more coverage from our on-the-ground reporter Ed Gately. In the meantime, check out the latest winners of the annual Google Cloud partner awards.
“When it comes to going above and beyond for customers, our partners are champions,” Ichhpurani said. “Congratulations to all the winners.”
