Red Hat (RHT) and Dell have jointly launched an enterprise-grade private OpenStack cloud. Dubbed the Dell Red Hat Cloud Solution, the new cloud offering was announced at Red Hat Summit this week and is powered by Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform.

The two companies noted in their announcement that they partnered on enterprise OpenStack cloud offerings to address the need for more flexible, elastic and dynamic IT services to support and host non-business critical applications and development and testing environments.

Initially, Dell and Red Hat have launched two offerings under the new Dell Red Hat Cloud Solution label:

“Cloud innovation is happening first in open source, and what we’re seeing from global customers is growing demand for open hybrid cloud solutions that meet a wide variety of requirements,” said Paul Cormier, president of Products and Technologies at Red Hat, in a prepared statement. “Whether it is enterprise-grade private cloud solutions, or devops solutions to build applications for both public and private clouds, through our expanded work with Dell, we’re focused on delivering the flexible solutions that meet these varied needs.”

Additionally, the two companies plan to work together to help customers design and architect OpenStack-based clouds for massive scale-out capabilities.
