Talkin’ Cloud at the end of each day pulls out five must-read cloud computing stories from the news cycle for its readers to review in the morning. Today’s column features Zscaler, Ericsson (ERIC) and Intel Security.

Securing The Branch Office Via The Cloud. Zscaler, a provider of IT security services delivered via the cloud, which just added a next-generation firewall service that can protect both network infrastructure and applications. Via the click of a single button, IT organizations can use Zscaler to implement not only next generation firewall capabilities, but also advanced persistent threat protection, data loss prevention, SSL encryption, traffic shaping, policy management services, security assessment and threat intelligence services.

Rebuilding Employee Trust After Disaster Strikes. There have been a number of high-profile data breaches in the past few years — from retailers like Target (TGT) and Home Depot (HD) to healthcare insurers like Anthem — making it clear that even the most trusted brands aren’t always safe from hackers. In the aftermath of an attack, the focus is rightly on the customer — to safeguard their information and reinforce their trust, so that views of the brand aren’t shattered. But what about company employees?

Ericsson, Intel Security Announce Telecom Managed Security Solutions. Telecommunications operators soon will be able to offer managed security solutions from Ericsson and Intel Security. These companies today announced an agreement that will enable telecom operators to bundle managed security solutions with the existing services they provide to enterprises. Intrusion prevention system services, email security and web security solutions initially will be available, according to Ericsson.

Cloud Raxak Unveils Cloud Security Compliance Solution. Cloud security compliance (CSC) company Cloud Raxak today has launched Cloud Raxak Protect, a cloud-based service that enables users to “secure and ensure compliance of their compute infrastructures, starting with their environment provisioning process and through the lifecycle, for both public and private clouds.”

IBM Fights Cybercrime with Security Intelligence Database. IBM (IBM) said it will make available its extensive library of security and cyber-threat intelligence with a new cloud-based platform called X-Force Exchange that private and public organizations can access to collaboratively combat cybercrime.
