Global technology services and outsourcing company Accenture has teamed up with Microsoft (MSFT) to provide organizations with a new hybrid cloud offering that ties into the Azure public cloud.

The aptly-named Accenture Hybrid Cloud Solution for Microsoft Azure provides hybrid cloud computing services based on Azure and Accenture’s own portfolio of cloud services. The launch of the new hybrid cloud service marks an expansion of the two companies’ long-standing relationship. Also involved in the new cloud offering is Avanade, another Microsoft partner.

“With new demands being placed on IT departments every day, enterprises need to smartly connect their infrastructure, software applications, data and operations capabilities in order to become agile, intelligent, digital businesses. This unique collaboration with Microsoft and Avanade is one of Accenture’s most strategic and important initiatives for driving enterprise-wide cloud adoption, said Pierre Nanterme, chairman and CEO of Accenture, in a prepared statement.

The Accenture hybrid cloud offering will provide customers with technologies for the migration and management of applications on and between private and public clouds in a controlled and automated way. The companies involved are pitching it as a way for enterprises to deliver “everything as a service.”

“Enterprises around the globe are looking for the right platforms and partners to help them transform and thrive in a mobile-first, cloud-first world,” said Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, in a prepared statement. “The Microsoft cloud, combined with Accenture’s industry knowledge and implementation expertise, accelerates our customers’ cloud adoption and unlocks new benefits, including powerful new applications, data-driven insights and increased productivity.”

Besides access to Microsoft Azure and the Accenture Cloud Platform, customers will also get access to a variety of professional services to help define and execute their cloud goals, as well as as support from Avanade’s “deep bench of skilled professionals.”
