Greater Intell Introduces giLens: Here's What You Need to Know

Greater Intell (GI) has released a new tool, giLens, that lets managed service providers (MSPs) leverage the Kaseya Virtual System Administrator (VSA) remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform to visualize system issues. For instance, MSPs can use it to view IT system outages on a map in real-time. Here are the details.

giLens gives MSPs real-time visibility into a customer’s IT operations, the company said. Combined with giOpsCenter, a set of dashboards that brings together all of an MSP’s data from Kaseya VSA, giLens enables service providers to monitor IT system outages as they happen and respond accordingly.

“Location is always a potential factor during system outages, and is particularly crucial when several groups are affected at the same time,” a GI spokesperson told MSPmentor. “giLens can be thought of as providing situational awareness for MSPs. It standardizes and automates the data … so it can be displayed in a way that allows for problem correlation and drill down.”

GI CEO Kirk Feathers added that giLens “takes advantage of the power and flexibility of the Kaseya platform to extend it in powerful new ways.”

The product addresses IT management problems, Feathers said, because it provides MSPs with maps that deliver real-time visibility to help them better understand support issues.

giLens features:

  • Mapping capabilities for decentralized IT sites

  • Quick-action tool for common tasks and operations

  • Patrol mode to automate cycling from location to location

  • The ability to flag machines as “priority” to automate monitoring and alerts

GI also has launched a version 2.0 upgrade to giOpsCenter that includes:

  • Auto-collection of machine-specific data

  • Customizable dashboards

  • Updated monitoring capabilities

Both giLens and the new version of giOpsCenter are now available.

GI recently has focused on providing integration services to vendors of third-party software tools to make them work with Kaseya.

For example, GI unveiled giDocs, an integrated document and content management solution for MSPs that featured Kaseya VSA integration right out of the box, earlier this month. giDocs allows users to secure and control their documents and content, GI said, and access these materials from any device.
