Egnyte Channels Director Mort Jensen says in order for a technology company to flourish it needs to excel in people, product and process.

Cloud-based file sync and share company Egnyte on Thursday touted its success with managed services providers (MSPs) by announcing a new partnership with Richard Fleischman and Associates (RFA), an MSP focused on the financial services vertical industry.

The customer win highlights one of Egnyte’s market differentiators, the ability to support MSPs that own and operate their own data centers to manage and store customer data. Egnyte enables RFA to offer secure cloud-based sharing and collaboration capabilities using RFA’s existing infrastructure, Egnyte said. Deployment options from Egnyte include cloud-only, on-premises only, or a combination of the two.

Egnyte has seen 30 percent year-over-year growth in channel revenue contribution over the last year, according to Egnyte Channels Director Mort Jensen.

“This came from an existing base of several hundred partners globally, in addition to over 200 newly signed partners,” he said.

To address the needs of MSPs, cloud services providers (CSPs), hosting providers and others, Egnyte launched a new program option in 2013, and these now represent 20 percent of overall channel revenue, Jensen said.

What makes Egnyte different from other products in the overcrowded cloud-based file sync and share space is that it “provides MSPs with a single platform to address any customer scenario,” he said.

“In addition, we enable MSPs with their own data centers, such as the scenario with RFA, to utilize Egnyte against their own [data center] infrastructure in a multi-tenant environment,” he added.

Today’s news builds on another move by the company this year. Egnyte expanded its operations in February to meet customer demand, scoop up new talent and leverage growing market.

The company plans to double its channel presence by the end of 2014, Egnyte Product Management Vice President Rajesh Ram said in an interview with Talkin’ Cloud.
