Windstream and BroadSoft have teamed up to provide a new customized virtual PBX and UC service for the hospitality industry.

Announced at HITEC, a large hospitality technology trade show, Virtual PBX for Hospitality is on a single unified platform hosted in an enterprise-class data center and accessible through the cloud. It includes: a complete UC service with built-in integration to the hotel management system; and data network, equipment, installation, maintenance, support and ongoing updates.{ad}

“Through a collaborative effort with Windstream, we have developed a solution specifically for the hospitality industry that provides hotel customers with a clear and simple migration path from legacy premise(s) PBX technologies to cloud unified communications,” said Ron Tarro, BroadSoft’s vice president of hospitality solutions. “Windstream’s hoteliers can now embed voice, video, messaging, presence and collaboration, all from a single cloud platform, into their hotel processes and guest services, including their hotel management systems. Hoteliers can now apply these unified technologies to rethink their guest experiences and to improve hotel staff productivity without complex premise technology implementation and integration projects.”

According to Windstream, the service directly addresses the growing needs of the hospitality industry by providing: a simplified, carrier-grade installation and cutover experience; increased flexibility to expand and grow to meet the needs of the property; elimination of the need for multi-vendor support; proactive identification and remediation of issues before they become apparent to guests; prompt answers and resolutions to guest and staff inquiries; and real-time trend analysis and quarterly business review capabilities.

“Leveraging the more than 25 years of experience of our dedicated hospitality team enabled us to develop a customizable solution that fundamentally transforms the way hoteliers manage their communications needs,” said Joseph Harding, Windstream Enterprise’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer. “The Windstream Virtual PBX for Hospitality represents the traditional PBX service reimagined to meet the specific needs of the hospitality industry. By analyzing the user interface and understanding the ever-changing needs of the hotelier customer, the team developed a smarter cloud-based platform that gives hoteliers constant control and monitoring capabilities, reliable connectivity and fully customizable communications.”

While not yet available to channel resellers, Windstream told us that “down the road, we may find that the solution is a good fit for the channel market.”
