Salestream Software Inc., makers of MasterStream channel management software, announced its COMPTEL show release of Instant Quoting for VoIP services within its MasterStream-RX telecom automation system for service providers and resellers. The release of VoIP Instant Quoting as a distinct category of service marks the sixth category of service available for MasterStream-RX licensees, allowing fully automated quoting-ondemand for their direct and indirect sales channels.

VoIP joins integrated access, Internet, local voice, long-distance, and private lines in the menu of service categories offered within the MasterStream-RX and MX hosted automation software platforms. Although the company has been providing Level 3 Communication Inc.s indirect channel with VoIP Instant Quoting capability for several months, the new category is designed to address services that diverge from the existing integrated access model.

The demand for a new VoIP category has been building as VoIP services have taken on new and varied forms, explained Jeff Fraser, MasterStreams vice president. The new VoIP service form and processes are designed to accommodate several different service pricing methodologies and are flexible enough to handle further variations as the VoIP market evolves.

For the master agents using our MX platform, anything not instantly quoted can be perceived as a nuisance when so much of the other telecom services are quoted automatically by the MasterStream system. Adding VoIP to the mix allows them to respond to their agents VoIP requests automatically, which allows them to focus more on sales and agent management and less on quoting, Fraser continued.
