Avaya Puts Flare Communicator on iPad

Channel partners whose clients use the Avaya Aura platform now can publicize the availability of the Flare Communicator app for iPad.

Avaya this week released the app, which lets Aura users connect to  and take advantage of Avaya unified communications features from  the iPad, rather than the Avaya Flare device. The iPad increasingly is becoming a staple among business users. Avaya’s iPad-compatible capabilities include managing two simultaneous voice calls while mobile; reading email while attending a Web conference; searching the corporate directory; and more.

The app is a free download from the App Store. Businesses with Avaya Aura 6.1 or later can get up to 50 Avaya Aura client access licenses at no cost, from now through April 30. Avaya VARs and dealers also can push the Executive User Add-On promotion, which gives Aura 6.1 or higher customers consistent access across various Avaya platforms. Avaya is offering the access at a 60 percent savings off the regular U.S. list price from Feb. 6-Sept. 30.

Avaya said it will expand Flare Communicator support to other consumer devices and operating systems  read, Android  later this year.
