Intronis Speeds Data Recovery with New Tool, Launches Canadian Data Center

Cloud backup provider Intronis has launched Spring Release ’13, the most recent update to its platform, which improves data restore, among other new features. The company also announced the opening of new data center. What else has Intronis unveiled to managed services providers (MSPs) and other partners? We’ll reveal the details.

First, let’s start with Spring Release ’13. Intronis says the new release provides an advanced feature set, greater customization and faster recovery time for virtualized systems. These features come in the form of a new data recovery tool called QuickSpin

QuickSpin offers change block tracking (CBT) for speedier incremental backups, flexible data retention, and archiving settings, as well as 256-bit AES encryption for maximum data protection. The tool is priced at a fixed per-host cost.

The company also has enhanced the Intronis Partner Portal in this release with greater customization, usability, and managed access controls for partners and introduced the Branding Wizard, a new tool that provides Intronis partners with the ability create a customer-facing portal that features their own logos, colors, and specific information.

Intronis CEO Rick Faulk said in his prepared remarks that the new release offers partners the resources needed to offer backup and recovery services.

“Intronis is a fast-growth company focused on earning the business and enabling the success of our North American channel partners,” he said.

To remove sales barriers and expand market potential in all of North America, Intronis announced an investment in a new Canadian Data Center, located in Montreal. The Canadian data center ensures that Canadian partners are able to comply with “the country’s federal and provincial regulations that restrict how and where data is managed”.

“The Canadian market is important to Intronis and in order to help our Canadian channel partners capitalize on the demand for cloud-based backup and recovery solutions, we needed to establish an in-country presence,” said Intronis Sales Vice President Rob Merklinger in a statement.
