A new survey of more than 3,000 IT decision-makers worldwide revealed the majority of businesses are "behind the curve" when it comes to their data protection strategies.

A new survey of more than 3,000 IT decision-makers worldwide revealed the majority of businesses are “behind the curve” when it comes to their data protection strategies. The survey showed that most businesses are “not very confident” that they can fully recover their critical data after an IT service disruption, yet they also considered data protection “to be totally critical to their success.”

Other survey results included:

  • Most businesses said they have lost data in the past; conversely, the majority of companies pointed out that they have NOT suffered unplanned system downtime.

  • Researchers said the business impact from data loss and downtime “remains staggering.”

  • While most businesses consider data protection to be critical to their success, they also said they feel challenged when it comes to their cloud, big data and mobile strategies.

So how can businesses avoid falling behind the curve with their data protection strategies?

Managed service providers (MSPs) that offer data backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solutions can help businesses prevent data loss and downtime.

By providing data BDR solutions that ensure all of a business’ sensitive information is available around the clock, MSPs can fully support their customers. Also, service providers can devote the necessary time and resources to a company’s needs and respond to all of its data BDR questions and concerns.

Data loss and downtime are unacceptable, particularly for businesses that need to be able to access their critical information 24 hours a day, seven days a week. MSPs, however, can offer data BDR solutions to help companies mitigate these problems.
