Distribution Watch: Synnex, D&H Distributing

TGIF! Thanks for stopping by Distribution Watch, the channel’s favorite place for the most up-to-date news on the distributors making waves in the industry. This week we’ve got exciting updates from Synnex (SNX) and D&H Distributing.

Synnex: Synnex will now offer the full line of Novatel Wireless products and services to its North American partners, including the SA 2100 mobile resource for digital video surveillance, digital signage, remote access and control and kiosk connectivity. The full suite of Novatel solutions will be available through Synnex’s MOBILITYSolv, which provides M2M business solutions for remote data communications to customers, according to the distributor.

"This strategic relationship enables Synnex to deliver unparalleled [Internet of Things] telemetry solutions to U.S. and Canadian audiences, while reflecting our commitment to be closer to our customers," said Slim Souissi, president and chief operating officer of Novatel Wireless, in a statement.

Synnex also partnered with private cloud provider Nebula on the new Orion Alliance, which is expected to help enterprises rapidly deploy and deliver fully integrated turnkey private cloud solutions. The program is designed to customers access to certified and tested solutions for turnkey integration and delivery of hardware and software applications across vendor platforms with an OPEX-driven pricing model—customers will be able to pay for the solutions via an as-a-service pricing model through Synnex’s utility financing program.

“Nebula and Synnex have cracked the code on delivering a private/hybrid cloud solution that is cost-effective during early proof of concepts, and scales out very well as projects move into production or high availability, offering cloud infrastructure as-a-service when and where customers need it,” said Kirk Nesbit, vice president, Design and Support Services at Synnex.

D&H Distributing: The Philadelphia-based distributor has redesigned its website, which includes new navigation, search, notifications and Watch List functions, designed to give users a more intuitive and easy-to-use online offering.

Additional features on the revamped site include new drop-down menus, the ability for users to browse product categories from any page, improved Watch Lists and notifications for discontinued items, according to the company. Users will be able to customize in-stock alerts for products directly through the site as well as through email alerts.

“D&H is dedicated to enhancing the customer experience, which includes making dandh.com a more effortless and productive platform. The website is a big part of our value proposition when it comes to making it easy for resellers to do business with us,” said Jeff Davis, senior vice president of purchasing at D&H Distributing. “This redesign is a major development, enriching the look and feel of the site, expanding views and incorporating more dynamic and versatile capabilities.”

D&H also announced it will offer Intel’s Retail Client Manager software, the company’s digital signage solution, aimed at retail VARs as well as those focused on healthcare, SMB and the restaurant and hospitality industries, according to the company.

“Digital signage has been a viable product application for some time. However, the market has been waiting on a practical and easy-to-use platform that empowers companies to manage these displays and turn them into truly persuasive business tools,” said Jeff Davis, senior vice president of Sales at D&H Distributing. “RCM’s analytic component lets users customize content to engage specific viewers and generate sales, which is a breakthrough capability.”

Now that you’re all caught up on the latest distributor news, relax and catch up with family and friends. Have a great weekend, Distribution Watchers, and we’ll see you back here next week.
