Happy Friday everyone! We’re right in the thick of the holiday season, and before long we’ll also be ringing in the New Year. But don’t think for a second that 2014 is over quite yet, and to prove it, this week we’ve got some hot distributor news from our friends at Novus and Ingram Micro (IM).

Novus: Telecom and IP equipment distributor Novus is expanding its Microsoft (MSFT) Lync services business with the addition of several Lync qualified products to its portfolio. Novus will focus specifically on building out its voice application services business, according to the announcement.

“Right now, it’s been more ad-hoc billable services, but we are seeing a big demand for enterprise voice services and expertise, and are working to establish this as an official business,” said Chris Meehan, managing partner of Novus, in a statement.

Novus recently added the entire AudioCodes lineup of Lync qualified products to its portfolio, as well as Sennheiser’s new Speakerphone series devices. The distributor currently has products from more than 10 manufacturers included in its Lync portfolio and achieved a Microsoft Partner Network Gold Communications Competency in January.

Ingram Micro: Ingram Micro has appointed Stan Clark as vice president of its Cloud Solutions business. Clark’s responsibilities include growing Ingram’s cloud market share by expanding its services and solutions portfolio, attracting new partners and developing vertical services and solutions, according to the announcement.

Prior to his new role at Ingram, Clark held several senior-level positions at Hewlett-Packard (HP), including global director of strategy and planning and as senior director of managed services and solutions for the company’s Printers and Personal Systems Group.

In his new role, Clark will report directly to Nimesh Dave, Ingram Micro’s executive vice president of Global Cloud Computing.

“Stan’s track record as a proven IT business leader will help Ingram Micro Cloud expand its cloud solutions portfolio and strategic global alliances to bring greater business value to our partners and stakeholders,” said Dave. “We are pleased to welcome Stan to our leadership team.”

In other news, Ingram Micro Mobility is partnering with BlackBerry (BBRY) to launch the BlackBerry Classic, a new device featuring a physical QWERTY keyboard. The BlackBerry Classic will be available to Ingram’s entire global partner ecosystem.

"As a long-time partner of BlackBerry, we are excited to deepen our relationship and support the launch of BlackBerry Classic," said Shailendra Gupta, executive vice president and president of Ingram Micro Mobility Worldwide. "With immense experience in providing complete Enterprise Mobility Management solutions, we believe our reseller channel will embrace the BlackBerry Classic and robust BlackBerry enterprise solutions offering as part of our comprehensive enterprise focused portfolio."

Ingram Micro will offer several enterprise bundles to its partners, including a secure productivity bundle and the enterprise communicator bundle. BlackBerry’s entire product portfolio is also available to Ingram’s reseller channel.
