That’s a wrap for Google Cloud Next 2023 in San Francisco, where generative AI took center stage throughout the conference.

Google Cloud announced numerous updates and new capabilities, many powered by generative AI advancements. And the Expo Hall and Google Cloud Showcase provided ample opportunities for partners and customers to check out the latest innovations incorporating AI and generative AI.

Bronwyn Hastings, vice president, ISV ecosystem and channels at Google Cloud, tells us in prior years, few partners were demoing AI offerings. That all changed at this year’s Google Cloud Next.

“Walking around the floor now, I go to every booth and there’s at least four or five examples on every booth,” she said. “And every time I go around they’re demoing to me the examples they’ve already got now with generative AI. So there’s a lot of excitement because customers are asking them. Customers are asking us. So they’re preparing themselves for that answer.”

The massive expo hall included all the big names in cloud, security, data analytics and management, contact center AI and more. In the Google Cloud Showcase, attendees learned about the latest Google advancements in AI, data, security, productivity and more.

Looking ahead, Google’s message for partners is engage early, Hastings said.

“We had a partner forum and the message was engage early, be ready, make sure you’ve got the competency, build differentiation,” she said. “This is the time for you to be able to differentiate and we continue to accelerate the time to value for customers.”
