Government Action to Address Chip Shortage
2021 will see the fruition of legislation either proposed or passed this year. As for the U.S., the Biden administration signed an executive order earlier this year to tackle the shortage. Moreover, the U.S. Senate did its part by endorsing $52 billion in subsidies for computer-chip manufacturing, despite criticism that there’s not enough focus on how the money will be precisely spent.
