Kaspersky Lab has partnered with Acronis to provide security solutions bundled with backup services to channel partners in the United States.

The bundles, which are available exclusively through Ingram Micro (IM), are expected to help both SMB and enterprise customers to better protect themselves against cyberthreats while simultaneously backing up sensitive information.

The marriage of security and backup services is particularly important because cyberthreats often bypass even the most stringent security programs, said Mark Bermingham, director of Global B2B Product Marketing at Kaspersky Lab.

“Security and backup really do go hand-in-hand. Unfortunately, many businesses today do not commit to the measures required to ensure that their organization is both secure and that their data is protected,” said Bermingham, in a statement. “It’s a recommended best practice to implement comprehensive security together with a robust backup solution as part of an organization’s cybersecurity strategy.”

The bundled offering combines Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business with Acronis Backup Advanced, providing users with both centralized management of their network devices and disaster recovery capabilities for physical, virtual and hybrid deployments, according to the announcement. The offering will also protect virtual environments, including VMware, Citrix and Microsoft platforms.

SMBs will also have access to a bundle that combines Kaspersky Small Office Security and Acronis Backup, with similar features to the enterprise edition but aimed at companies with less than 50 employees, according to the announcement.

Both bundles are available immediately.

“The combination of security and backup ensures that companies are not only protected from threats and disasters, but that they also have the ability to get their business up and running quickly if needed usually in a matter of minutes,” said Dvir Ben Aroya, vice president of Global Business Development at Acronis. “Together with Kaspersky Lab we are helping companies face the threat of cyberattacks and disasters head-on with powerful joint solutions that secure and protect their businesses.”

Earlier this month, Acronis announced it had become the latest member of Good Technology’s ISV Affiliate program, which allows the enterprise mobile management company’s customers to purchase Acronis Access Advanced for Good directly through the channel and its reseller network.

Acronis launched its Backup Service in April, giving customers the option to remotely manage their data through a single pane of glass via the Acronis AnyData Engine.
