Cymphonix And D-Link Deliver Ads, Messaging To Visitor Networks

You may remember our coverage of Cymphonix in March. Cymphonix specializes in network security and reporting. Now they’re teaming up with D-Link to create “hospitality and visitor-based network” delivery system. Here’s the scoop on the new collaboration and how VARs working in the advertising, digital signage or  WiFi field might be interested…

It works like this: Cymponix XLi-OS technology will enhance Wishfi MediaSpace, D-Link’s ad and messaging platform. Once  bundled together, it will  create a more  targeted advertising platform for hospitality and visitor based WiFi network, wherever they may be, from bookstores to hotels.

Wishfi has apparently gained popularity since it offers ‘micro-targeted’ information to users on the network, and Cymphonix’s XLi technology will boost this visibility of “converged Internet traffic” making Wishfi far more precise.

The information — ads or otherwise — exists as part of the browser window and Cymphonix’s XLi OS is smart enough, and ‘content aware’ enough to deliver more exact information inside that part of the browser window.

Both partners, Cymphonix and D-Link, are able to sell the solution. Either a Network Composer will be purchased from Cymphonix or a D-Link Wishfi licensing agreement will be bought from D-Link. Both D-Link and Cymphonix will work the sales process.

With laser-focused ads becoming the most popular and useful way to target consumers and customers, we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears open about this. Even if a VAR isn’t involved with D-Link or Cymphonix, an SMB might be interested in focusing on targeting ads through Wishfi when possible.
