Rhode Island-based systems integrator Carousel Industries is expanding its western United States footprint with the hiring of two former Quagga executives.

Aileen Meraz has been named vice president of sales, western region, and Duree Westover has been appointed regional sales director for the Pacific Northwest. Meraz and Westover both come from managed services company Quagga, owned by Windstream. Their roles are newly created within Carousel, as the voice, video and data networking integrator grows.

Carousel already had operations in California. But Meraz’s team will build on that momentum by serving Arizona, Nevada and other Western states. Meraz has worked for Avaya, Cisco, Lucent and, of course, Quagga. Westover, who was Quagga’s director and oversaw sales and marketing there, will target the Pacific Northwest.
