Palm Pre, Palm Pixi Upgrades Verizon-Bound?

Several sources are reporting additional news about a now-likely Verizon–Palm team-up as soon as next month.

Tipsters say that Verizon will sell upgrades of the Pre and the Pixi. They will supposedly be called the Pre Plus and the Pixi Plus, but the differences from the originals won’t be aesthetic, as they are anticipated to look the same. In fact, there isn’t much information out there about differences yet, but both phones are expected to run webOS 1.3.5.

Earlier this month, we told you that announcement is expected to happen at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.

Currently, the Palm and the Pixi are exclusive to the Sprint wireless network. Time will tell if a partnership with Verizon will boost sales.
