Apperian, Appthority Partner on Mobile App Security

Apperian, a mobile application management company has announced a new initiative to give businesses the capability to instantly determine app risk factors. The new capability comes through a partnership with mobile security startup Appthority. Appearian is integrating its Enterprise App Services Environment (EASE) platform with the Appthority Platform — a cloud-based platform that identifies risks in mobile applications  to give businesses the capability to instantly determine risk factors with applications. Here’s how it works.

Appthority Platform determines possible risks behind iOS and Android applications. Even though an app may seem harmless, Authority Platform identifies unknown malware, new malware used in targeted attacks, corporate data exfiltration, and intellectual property exposure. It also grades risky behavior in mobile apps.

This integration allows IT managers to apply the exact capabilities they require and to manage it all from a single administration console. By preventing companies from using risky apps, Apperian claims that it gives companies the tools they need to embrace BYOD (bring your own device), instead of fearing it.
