Is a new video service on the horizon for AT&T (T)?

Randall Stephenson, AT&T’s CEO, recently hinted his company may launch a new video service within the next 45 days.

Stephenson noted the combination of DirecTV‘s content deals and AT&T’s network empowers his company to provide the best content over traditional TV “or streamed over Internet to essentially any mobile device,” according to Re/code

In addition, Stephenson said AT&T intends to launch new video entertainment packages throughout 2016.

“Our DirecTV integration is going well, and the customer response to our new integrated mobile and entertainment offers is strong,” he said in a prepared statement. “Throughout this year, we plan to launch a variety of new video entertainment packages that give customers even more choices.”

AT&T finalized its DirecTV acquisition in July, and since that time, has launched new programs to support DirecTV subscribers.

For example, AT&T this month began offering an unlimited data, talk and text plan to its DirecTV and wireless subscribers.

AT&T said its new and existing consumer wireless customers who have or add DirecTV or AT&T U-Verse TV can take advantage of this plan.
