Global Convergence Inc. has acquired wireless engineering company Radiant Networks for an undisclosed sum, giving its partners access to a host of new service offerings to help grow their enterprise mobility solution businesses.
GCI said the acquisition will allow its partner ecosystem to take advantage of increasing demand for enterprise mobility services and solutions due to the overall growth of BYOD and the Internet of Things. The company’s expanded portfolio will include wireless and mobility assessments, consulting services, global deployment services and security solutions for enterprise devices—providing partners with a differentiated set of enterprise mobile solutions, specifically mobile security solutions, the company noted.
The company cited a recent Kaseya survey, which found fewer than a third of North American solution providers currently offer identity and access management security solutions to their customers, with desktop, server and network support comprising a majority of their offerings. GCI’s acquisition of Radiant will allow it to offer even more advanced security solutions than their competitors, said CEO and chairman Jim Bradshaw.
“Only 25 percent of today’s solution providers are offering advanced enterprise mobility solutions like identity and asset management systems, despite escalating regulatory and compliance requirements,” said Jim Bradshaw, CEO and chairman of the board of GCI, in a statement. “This creates a tremendous opportunity for our partners and we’re placing a heavy focus around the technologies, tools and services that will give them a competitive advantage.”
Last month, Global Convergence appointed Simon Short as president of its Worldwide Sales and Marketing Division, responsible for consolidating performance among the distributor’s sales, marketing, product management and service-solutions group.
In July, the company acquired the operating assets of NXO Americas, a global services and solution provider and North American subsidiary of NextiraOne Europe. The acquisition was expected to allow GCI to broaden its IT services offerings for its channel partner ecosystem.
