The Benefits of IP Video Surveillance

Didn’t make it to Interop last month? Not to worry. While you did miss out on the light sabers, here’s the lowdown on the product information and thought leadership Axis Communications demonstrated at the conference, as well as links to resources and more.

Axis Communications was proud to show its intelligent physical security solutions at the conference. Physical security—and, more specifically, video surveillance–is one of the last technologies to leave the analog age and switch to digital. A digital, network video surveillance system provides a host of benefits and advanced functionalities that cannot be provided by an analog video surveillance system–and all of it fits securely on your network.

The advantage to Axis Communications’ network video includes superior image quality, remote accessibility, distributed intelligent video capabilities, easy installation and integration, and better scalability, flexibility and cost-effectiveness.

In fact, Axis is continually launching innovative network products based on an open platform, delivering high value to customers through a global partner network. At Interop, we demonstrated solutions with our partners to show how IP video benefits you and your network. These solutions include:

  • Buffalo Americas, showing network attached storage (NAS) integrated with AXIS Camera Companion, a video solution for systems up to 16 cameras. (See our video here.)

  • Hosted Video, showing a trouble-free solution for small system video surveillance using the cloud.

  • Axis Camera Station S10 Recorder Series, a midsize out-of-the-box option for easy video surveillance.

At the conference we also showed a Data Center demonstration, highlighting video integration, access control and more.

Of course, there is always room for more learning. Through dedicated trainers and dynamic learning methods, Axis Communications’ Academy empowers you to deliver high-quality surveillance solutions. We gave Interop attendees a taste of the educational opportunities Axis provides with hands-on academy and AXIS A1001 Network Door Controller demos. With knowledge of your own network, you understand the challenges of an IP surveillance system. However, by also taking the time to learn about cameras, optics, and the physical security market, you’ll be in prime position to round out your network portfolio.

We also just launched the new Network Video Fundamentals: For IT course. The first classes are in June, and you can find more information on the Axis Communications Academy here.
