CloudBees, ClearDB Announce OEM Partnership for DBaaS
ClearDB on Wednesday said it has entered into an OEM agreement with Java-based platform-as-a-service provider CloudBees. The partnership enables CloudBees to offer ClearDB’s database-as-a-service (DBaaS) solution for MySQL-powered applications to customers.
“For ClearDB, CloudBees is an excellent addition to our enterprise/OEM portfolio, and we look forward to serving both CloudBees and their customers with our line of highly available MySQL database products and services,” ClearDB founder and CEO Cashton Coleman told Talkin’ Cloud.
He said in addition to CloudBees, companies such as Microsoft (MSFT) and Pivotal are leveraging ClearDB as their MySQL database service provider.
Coleman added that this is the first partnership between ClearDB and CloudBees companies.
“Customers of CloudBees will receive the same great service to which they’ve become accustomed,” CloudBees Business Development Vice President Andrew Lee said. “The partnership allows us to focus on our Continuous Delivery Platform and ride the advancements the ClearDB team is making in DBaaS.”
On a separate note, CloudBees made news earlier this month for closing an $11.2 million Series C financing round led by Verizon Ventures, the investment arm of Verizon (VZ).
