Ingram Micro is beefing up its cloud unit’s executive team.

The distributor on Thursday announced hiring two employees and promoted another to leadership positions in Ingram Micro Cloud. Richard Dufty, Tim FitzGerald and Jason Bystrak have new positions in the company.

Nimesh Davé, Ingram Micro’s executive vice president of global cloud, says the new hires are the result of a growing business.

“Our go-to-market strategy is proven and we are investing in the talent and technology needed to empower our channel partners and further accelerate cloud adoption worldwide,” Davé said.

Richard Dufty is now senior vice president of Ingram Micro Cloud’s global cloud platform. He will manage Ingram Micro’s overall cloud strategy. Dufty spent the last five years at AppDirect, working as its senior vice president of worldwide sales. He built the sales program, which included partners. He worked at Symantec from 2004 to 2012, moving up from senior manager of service providers to country manager. He was in charge of all sales and channels.

Tim Fitzgerald is Ingram Micro Cloud’s new vice president of cloud channel sales, in charge of developing the business unit’s North American “platforms, marketplace and services.” He spent the earlier part of 2017 as Tech Data’s vice president of digital transformation. He worked for more than a decade at Avnet.

“With the appointment of Richard and Tim, we are executing to plan and extending our reach within North America and across the globe, continuing to deliver the cloud services and solutions our channel partners require to build their businesses,” Davé said.

Ingram Micro Cloud also promoted Jason Bystrak to executive director of partner enablement. He will oversee the unit’s technology partners, including ISVs and providers of the big three — software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS). He is a longtime employee of Ingram Micro, working with the company since 1995 and most recently serving as executive director of North America for Ingram Micro Cloud.

“Under Jason’s leadership, we are expanding our technology partner ecosystem to provide more business value and deliver relevant relationships our channel partners need to succeed,” Davé said
