Nextiva pulled out all the stops for its NextCon16 conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, Nov. 14-16. Big-name speakers, flashy theatrics and a major product announcement kept the audience engaged.

While the conference catered primarily to budding entrepreneurs who are looking for advice on how to build their business, Nextiva dedicated a significant portion of its time to meeting with partners and rolling out a new communications platform.

Nextiva employees, partners and budding entrepreneurs gathered at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, for the three-day conference.

Entrepreneur and former Miss Arizona USA Erika Frantzve MC’d the main sessions.

A drumline kicked off the first session on Monday morning to energize the crowd and introduce the speakers.

Guy Kawasaki, who formerly served as chief evangelist for a little company called Apple, spoke to business owners about how they can keep up with the “innovation curve.”

Nextiva channel chief Ira Feuerstein and senior sales engineer Cathryn Valladares led the Day 1 partner meeting. The discussion homed in on add-ons, especially analytics, that partners can sell to make their customers more sticky. Read our Day 1 recap.

A sax player helped Nextiva’s mascot introduce the Day 1 main keynote.

Nextiva CEO Tomas Gorny used the keynote to introduce his company’s new communications operating system, NextOS. Read more about the solution in our Day 1 recap. Gorny also sat down with us for an interview on Day 3.

The conference’s expo featured a select number of vendors, including the communications provider Jabra.

SimpleWAN, the networking provider, was also at the scene.

UC stalwart Polycom demoed its products for conference attendees.

Nextiva President Tracy Conrad joined Ira Feuerstein to talk to partners. The company encouraged partners to implement more professional demos, as we wrote in our Day 2 recap.

Gopi Kallayil, chief evangelist of brand marketing for Google, gave business owners a rundown of how to effectively communicate their company’s story. Read more about the speakers of Day 2.
