Breezy Brings Secure Mobile Printing to AirWatch

AirWatch users will now have the ability to print documents from their mobile devices, as the company has announced integration with secure mobile platform provider Breezy.

AirWatch, which was recently acquired by VMware (VMW) to the tune of $1.54 billion, currently has more than 10,000 global customers. Breezy CEO Jared Hansen noted the integration will give AirWatch customers the added convenience of mobile printing with the knowledge that their corporate data stays safe.

“It’s always been fast and easy to deploy Breezy across a corporate network, but the integration with AirWatch provides an even simpler set-up and installation for enterprise IT,” said Hansen in a prepared statement. “Now, no matter what mix of smartphones and tablet operating systems, legacy printers or cloud and on-premise printing options a company needs, they can be sure that the combination of Breezy and AirWatch will keep valuable company data secure as it moves through the mobile printing process.”

AirWatch customers should be able to take advantage of the integration immediately.

“As a longstanding AirWatch partner, Breezy is able to provide simplified management and enhanced functionality to its secure mobile printing solution through the AirWatch platform,” said Kevin Keith, director of Business Development, AirWatch by VMware. “Together, AirWatch and Breezy will give customers flexibility and end-to-end security—even when company data is being printed outside the company network.”

The AirWatch and Breezy integration is the latest in VMware’s master plan to become a driving force in the mobile device management (MDM) sphere. In addition to several new product launches for its desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) offerings, the company has been ramping up its MDM credibility over the past few months since announcing its acquisition of AirWatch in January.

Some have speculated that 2014 could be a banner year for VMware, and judging from the rapid-fire announcements that have come from the vendor in the past few months, that may be the reality.
