Windstream is rebranding its suite of premium services for consumers and small businesses under the name Kinetic by Windstream.

Windstream launched the Kinetic brand in 2014 with the rollout of the company’s next-generation television service. Kinetic by Windstream offers access to the following: Kinetic Internet, Kinetic Gig, Kinetic TV and Kinetic Business Solutions.

David Avery, Windstream’s vice president of corporate affairs, says his company has made significant investments in network upgrades during the past three years to provide “premium broadband and business solutions to customers in the 18 states where Windstream is the incumbent local telephone provider.”

“These investments to deliver faster internet speeds from 25 Mbps to 100 Mbps and up to 1 gig improve our competitiveness, which benefits our channel partners,” he said. “We will use the Kinetic by Windstream brand to promote our premium services over our upgraded network.”

Windstream’s suite of premium internet and business offerings now is available to more than half of the households and small businesses across its 18-state local footprint. Coverage will continue to expand as part of Windstream’s ongoing network upgrades.

Kinetic Business Solutions includes customizable services that ensure business continuity, advanced communications and maximum reliability.

“The Kinetic by Windstream brand underscores our continued commitment to providing best-in-class broadband and entertainment experiences,” said Jeff Small, Windstream’s president of consumer and small business. “We are delivering more speed to more customers so they can readily stream, surf and download on multiple devices at the same time. Kinetic by Windstream truly represents a stronger connection between our company and the communities we serve.”

During last week’s Windstream Bank of America Merrill Lynch 2017 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, Windstream CFO Bob Gunderman said his company intends to raise broadband speeds in cable areas to better compete, and raise prices in non-cable areas.

“Within our markets, we have the more competitive markets, which is where we go against the national cable competition, but then we have a lot other markets where it’s a lot less competitive, and in those locations we did improve our speeds as well,” he said. “And we have the unique opportunity I believe to both go grab share back in the more competitive markets, which we’re certainly going to price aggressively to do, but in the less competitive markets … we’re going to try to move those customers up and monetize some of that speed profile and start to increase ARPU on those customers in the range of $10-$20.”
