Subscription business management software company Ubersmith has launched a new program that offers financial incentives for new business referrals.

The program is open to all existing partners. Payments will be made for 10 percent of the subscription fee up to a period of three years. Registering and signing a referral agreement are required to participate in the program.

Ubersmith’s Jeremy Chang

Jeremy Chang, Ubersmith’s head of business development, tells Channel Partners his company wanted to enable a mechanism “wherein anyone who knows of a person/business that could potentially benefit from Ubersmith can refer that person/business to us, and be compensated for it.”

“We hope that this will increase the flow of better and qualified leads into our pipeline,” he said.

Last November, Ubersmith launched its first partner program with a goal of opening doors for technology, services and channel companies to build stronger relationships with their customers, expand their portfolios and boost margins. The referral program complements the partner program, and will be another option for partners if they choose to simply refer the business opportunity to Ubersmith.

“The partner program is … where we work together to better serve our mutual customers and is separate from the referral program,” Chang said. “The main focus of the referral program is on customers that are using and are satisfied with Ubersmith; as such, making partners out of satisfied customers is the goal here — but not in the same form as those in our partner program, of course. We hope that the financial incentive is also a motivator to get referrals sent to us.”

The referral program provides an additional channel for sales development, he said. Leads from referrals likely will be of higher quality and help Ubersmith identify new customers that will potentially remain with the company for a long time, he said.

“As a pay-per-use internet services company, we rely on Ubersmith’s subscription billing to help us provide our clients with the most effective IT infrastructure, along with the ability to do forecasting for different options,” said Arman Khalili, CEO of Evocative, which owns and operates data centers. “Given our experience, we think highly of Ubersmith on every level – from its product suite to its people and overall service – and would recommend the company, which is easier now with its referral program.”
