Tangoe, TRAQ Merge to Address Next Generation of TEM

Telecom expense provider Tangoe Inc. has wrapped up its merger with TRAQ Wireless Inc., a company that offers lifecycle management services for enterprises wireless devices.

The newly formed company will operate under the Tangoe name. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

A growing sector of the TEM space is the focus on lifecycle device management, which can include offering help desk support to customers, remote kill if a device is lost or stolen, over-the-air security updates for PDAs, and so on.

Tangoe founder Al Subbloie will continue to serve as president and CEO, while Rick Pontin, TRAQs president and CEO, will serve as the companys chairman.

Our merger is in direct response to evolving needs of the marketplace, said Subbloie in a press release. The combined capabilities of Tangoe and TRAQ enable corporations worldwide to manage the explosive growth of wireless, wireline and data communications in a comprehensive, unified way.

The new Tangoes products include lifecycle management and managed services such as invoice processing. The company is headquartered in Orange, Conn., and operates facilities in Austin, Texas, Manchester, England, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Both Tangoe and TRAQ have partner programs. They target businesses that spend millions of dollars per year on telecommunications.
