Sirius Computer Solutions to Acquire Force 3, Expand Cybersecurity Offerings

Sirius Computer Solutions, a national IT integrator, yesterday announced it reached an acquisition agreement with network security company Force 3 for an undisclosed amount. The deal will allow Sirius to continue to expand its offerings in cybersecurity, one of the fastest-growing IT spaces. The transaction also grows Sirius’s presence in the Mid-Atlantic region and helps the company gain a firmer foothold in the Federal marketplace.

“Force 3 is viewed by many manufacturers as one of the most skilled Federal partners in networking and security. Our clients will benefit from strengthened engineering skills in these areas, as well as additional contract vehicles that are available to help Federal, state and local governmental clients simplify the process of acquiring the solutions they need,” said Joe Mertens, President and Chief Executive Officer at Sirius, in a release. “We share similar core values as well as a desire to provide the right end-to-end solutions our clients need in order to grow and be successful.”

Scheduled to close March 31, it’s the fourth acquisition from Sirius in the last 18 months as the company expands its core offerings. In 2014, the acquisition of Brightlight Consulting gave Sirius a foothold in the big data and business intelligence (BI) areas. With the acquisition of Varrow last year, Sirius introduced EMC solutions into its traditionally IBM-centric offerings. Sirius also brought on a portion of Avnet’s digital software solutions and services in 2015.

“Combining forces with Sirius helps Force 3 take the next step in accelerating our vision. Together, we will extend our geographic reach, solution offerings and networking capabilities in an industry that is very dynamic and fast-paced,” said Force 3 CEO Mike Greaney.
