Erado Launches Microsoft Office 365 Archiving and Compliance

SaaS archiving specialist Erado has announced the launch of its Microsoft Office 365 Compliance Services, a hosted product designed to help capture, review and retain e-mail messages for regulatory purposes.

In a refreshingly to-the-point press release, Erado said the new compliance service automatically captures e-mail from Microsoft Exchange Online, the messaging core of the Office 365 cloud suite, and encrypts sensitive mail without user intervention. Erado’s Office 365 Compliance Services utilize envelope journaling for eDiscovery, while its so-called SecureMail policy-based encryption works directly with Microsoft’s cloud suite.

Pricing is on a per-customer basis, if Erado’s other compliance offerings are anything to go by. And it appears that Erado’s private-label hosting and reseller partners have access to the Microsoft Office 365 Compliance Services.

Office 365 archiving and compliance is an increasingly crowded marketplace — Bloomberg Vault, MXSweep and LiveOffice are just a few of the competitors Erado will be facing down. It’s gotten to the point where I’m wondering when Microsoft will buy one of these Office 365 ISVs and bundle their technology into the offering.
