CounterTack, the predictive endpoint-security provider, is buying GoSecure, providing partners with a full cybersecurity arsenal to complete against CrowdStrike, Carbon Black and others.

GoSecure is a cybersecurity managed detection and response (MDR) provider. CounterTack said the acquisition expands its previous partnership with GoSecure to a “best-in-class MDR platform-as-a-service” for the company’s domestic and international customers. The transaction will enhance CounterTack’s offerings for enterprises of all sizes, whether deployed on premises, hosted or managed in the cloud, it said.

CounterTack’s Neal Creighton

Neal Creighton, CounterTack’s CEO, tells Channel Partners the acquisition will “allow us to deliver a full range of products and services to our partners and their clients.”

“We are confident it will create new opportunities for our partners by offering specialized advanced services such as threat hunting and proactive mitigation,” he said. “We see these as complementary to the products and services currently offered by our partners, and in fact, our partners have been asking us for these.”

Partners will have access to more complete cybersecurity products and services needed to “protect their clients from today’s steady stream of new and fast-moving attacks,” Creighton said.

“They will be able to deliver a unique offering of full spectrum threat detection, predictive analytics and advanced mitigation services lacking in competitive solutions,” he said.

CounterTack and GoSecure have partnered in delivering endpoint security technologies and services for several years now, Creighton said. The acquisition will not fundamentally change the value and how these integrated offerings are delivered today, he said.

“But in a short period, we will leverage our learnings from MDR services to enhance our IP and products for more effective outcomes, both for our partners and for end customers,” he said.

“Our plan is to work directly with each of our partners over the next several weeks to finalize plans, processes and timeline that meet their needs,” Creighton added, when asked whether the companies’ partner communities will be integrated.

“GoSecure has fully integrated CounterTack’s platform into our active mitigation services to create differentiated offerings,” said Pascal Fortin, GoSecure’s president and chairman. “CounterTack’s strong platform and GoSecure’s depth of real-world security experience will allow us to bring an unrivaled class of services to address clients’ most demanding security requirements. We look forward to joining the CounterTack team and providing unprecedented protection — from rapid identification to active mitigation with aggressive SLAs to organizations of all sizes across the globe.”

Security teams are looking for security service providers that can help them prevent, detect and respond to the flood of advanced threats targeting the enterprise,” said Aaron Sherrill, senior analyst at 451 Research. “With its acquisition of MSSP GoSecure, CounterTack is paving the way for the next generation of managed security service provider and endpoint security delivery.”
