Cisco to Acquire CliQr for $260 Million

Cisco has announced plans to acquire cloud orchestration platform provider CliQr for $260 million. The company said the CliQr addition ultimately could help its customers“simplify and accelerate their private, public and hybrid cloud deployments.” 

Logicalis US Acquires The Via Group

MSPmentor 501 honoree Logicalis has added a unified communications (UC) and voice solution provider to its portfolio. The company said it has acquired The Via Group, which will enable Logicalis to deliver new communication and collaboration tools to organizations across the United States. 

Peak 10 Launches Low-Cost, Geo-Diverse Object Storage Solution

Peak 10 has introduced an object storage service designed to help businesses store their unstructured data. The IT infrastructure and cloud services provider noted its new service could empower companies to better manage their digital assets and prepare for the proliferation of business data.

451 Research Finds US Is the Cheapest Place to Use Public Cloud in Its Latest Global Price Analysis

A new 451 Research study revealed cloud pricing in the United States currently ranks as “the most competitive globally.” Also, the study indicated cloud users in the United States pay between 7 percent and 19 percent more on average to host the same cloud application in Europe and 14 percent to 38 percent more in the Asia-Pacific region.

Many Organizations Targeting Encryption Deployments, Study Shows

The use of encryption continues to grow in response to cyber attacks, privacy compliance regulations and consumer concerns, according to a new Thales study of more than 5,000 IT professionals. In addition, the study showed the majority of organizations plan to transfer sensitive data to the cloud within the next two years.
