Telarus Inc. announced it has added XO Communications’ nationwide metro fiber footprint to GeoQuote, a real-time commercial broadband research tool used by Telarus agents to qualify Ethernet WAN and Ethernet-over-Copper opportunities. GeoQuote powers publicly accessible Web sites such as ShopforEthernet.com, as well as the back office used by Telarus independent agents to perform research for clients looking to purchase metro Ethernet broadband products.

XO Communications joins Level 3 as the first major carriers to provide Telarus agents the exact locations of high-speed fiber routes. Their combined footprints make it possible for high-end agents to perform important research without having to submit formal information requests and wait days for feedback.

Telarus said there are fewer than three companies that offer subscriptions to the whereabouts of carrier metro fiber routes, and most charge more than $30,000 per year for a single license – Telarus offers this same information to its certified agents, free of charge.
