With 2015 quickly approaching, now is the perfect time for managed service providers (MSPs) to make their New Year’s resolutions. Making a New Year’s resolution is usually simple, but following through on this promise can be tough.

However, MSPs that focus on data backup and disaster recovery (BDR) and business continuity New Year’s resolutions could boost their profits if they ensure that their customers’ sensitive information is protected throughout 2015.

Still searching for New Year’s resolutions? Here are five recommendations for MSPs from data BDR solutions provider Datto:

  1. Update your website – An MSP’s website should be user-friendly and include information about all of its current data BDR and business continuity services.

  2. Launch customer tutorials – With customer tutorials that are readily available on an MSP’s website, a prospect can learn about a service provider’s data BDR and business continuity services and how these offerings have helped customers in the past.

  3. Use social media – Facebook, Twitter and other social networks can help an MSP connect with prospects and customers, and ultimately, increase its profits.

  5. Attend a local trade show – Face-to-face networking is valuable, and attending a local trade show enables an MSP to get exposure and educate prospects.
