TeamViewer Unveils ITbrain Anti-Malware Solution

TeamViewer has launched ITbrain Anti-Malware, a cloud-based anti-malware solution for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The solution is integrated with the company’s web-based TeamViewer Management Console, providing IT service providers with access to the control panel and reporting data from any web-enabled device. The integration enables collecting and aggregating data into the cloud.

The remote control and online meeting software provider said ITbrain Anti-Malware gives SMBs real-time control of all remote endpoints to help these businesses eliminate security threats such as hacking, phishing, viruses and data theft.

“The malware threats keep growing. At the same time, many small businesses don’t have the dedicated IT staff to plan a coordinated response to security threats, let alone implement it. ITbrain Anti-Malware gives them proper business-grade security, but without the maintenance burdens and ongoing expense of a complex solution,” Kornelius Brunner, TeamViewer’s head of product management, said in a prepared statement.

Brunner added that ITbrain Anti-Malware “can be deployed with complete efficiency by most anybody in the office.”

ITbrain Anti-Malware runs in the cloud, TeamViewer noted, and companies do not have to buy or configure any hardware to use it. The multi-tenant solution is integrated in the web-based TeamViewer Management Console, providing businesses with access to the solution’s control panel and reporting data from any web-enabled device.

Also, TeamViewer said this integration allows both products to work together to collect and aggregate data into the cloud.

Other ITbrain Anti-Malware features include:

  • Advanced heuristics and signature-based detection blocks

  • Automatic patching and updating

  • Policy management controls

  • Real-time network status updates

  • The ability to schedule security scans at any time

  • Threat detection alerts and reports

TeamViewer said ITbrain Anti-Malware is available with a subscription; ITbrain Anti-Malware can be used and licensed independently from a TeamViewer license as well. Licenses are calculated per endpoint on a monthly or annual basis and volume discounts are available.

ITbrain Anti-Malware is immediately available for Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Vista and XP SP3, along with Windows Servers 2012 R2, 2012, 2008 R2, 2008 and 2003 R2.
