Cloud-based email management technology provider Mimecast is launching a North America Managed Service Providers (MSPs) Program to formally support the business model and management needs of MSPs.

The company said that its suite of unified email management (UEM) services, including security, archiving and continuity, will now be available to MSP customers.

Mimecast Global MSP Program Manager Kate Saunders told MSPmentor that while the company has never had a formal MSP partner program, it has been "partnering with MSPs for quite a while."

"MSPs are not new partners to Mimecast, but we wanted to structure a program that is tailored to address their specific customer management needs so they could reap the greatest benefits of the Mimecast services and provide them for the benefit of their customers," she said.

Saunders said Mimecast already has about 40 MSPs in North America participating its partner program that represent a "few customers to nearly a thousand and from a few hundred seats to tens of thousands."

"As Mimecast continues to evolve its focus in North America toward the channel, formalizing our program for MSPs to reach customers at the long-end-of-the-tail makes good business sense," she added.
