Threat intelligence platform provider FireEye (FEYE) has unveiled a cloud-based security analytics solution for Amazon Web Services (AWS) customers.

The new FireEye Threat Analytics Platform (TAP) for AWS is designed “to reduce the alert noise of typical security tools and enable organizations to focus resources on active incident response and remediation in order to stop attacks.”

Organizations can integrate TAP with the AWS CloudTrail web service to evaluate AWS application programming interface (API) calls and use FireEye’s threat intelligence tools to monitor suspicious activities.

“As more critical systems move to the cloud, organizations need to ensure the right level of security visibility into their cloud. We believe the FireEye Threat Analytics Platform gives customers access to the most advanced threat intelligence and enables security teams to filter out the noise of typical security solutions, allowing them to identify and stop advanced threats,” Grady Summers, FireEye’s vice president of strategic solutions, said in a prepared statement.

What does TAP offer organizations?

FireEye said TAP for AWS enables organizations to:

“We extended our Threat Analytics Platform offering to include AWS because we saw a direct need from some of our biggest customers. They loved the functionality of TAP, but were moving more and more of their workloads to the cloud,” Summers told MSPmentor. “Furthermore, TAP itself runs in AWS, which means that our customers can take advantage of Amazon’s no-cost intra-cloud bandwidth to send data from their AWS instances to ours.”

Summers noted TAP for AWS will allow his company to provide threat intelligence support to customers for years to come.

“We see the majority of our customers moving at least some [of their workloads] to AWS, and FireEye is in the best position to help those customers,” he said. “We’ve seen customers struggling to pipe threat intelligence into their security information and event management (SIEM), then in turn, struggling to adapt their legacy first-generation SIEM to work with AWS. When they realize they can get this out of the box with TAP, it’s like a light goes on.”

AWS customers can add TAP for AWS through a one-click purchase process and set up their deployment with a self-service management tool.
