CloudPassage, a Software Defined Security (SDSec) company, is offering Heartbleed vulnerability assessments with CloudPassage Halo. This cloud security platform integrates with development and operations (DevOps) tools, automatically detects all vulnerable assets and creates a prioritized list to conduct server remediation.

Google and security firm Codenomicon provided details about Heartbleed, a vulnerability in the OpenSSL cryptographic software library, last week. Heartbleed allows anyone on the Internet to read the memory of the systems protected by vulnerable versions of OpenSSL.

Halo automates the discovery of the Heartbleed security flaw in any hybrid, private or public cloud environment and across traditional data centers and standalone servers, CloudPassage said in a press release. CloudPassage is providing a free trial of Halo Professional that gives users full access to all of its security components.

Here’s how CloudPassage describes Halo on its website:

“The Halo cloud security platform was purpose-built for the dynamic and scalable nature of modern cloud environments. Highly automated and easily integrated, Halo provides your organization with the critical protection, visibility and control needed to assure cloud security – without the fixed perimeters of legacy security.”

CloudPassage provides a full explanation of Halo and how it works on its blog. A free 15-day trial of Halo Professional also is available here.
