CA Technologies (CA) has unveiled a new version of Nimsoft Monitor.

CA Technologies’ (CA) new version of IT monitoring platform Nimsoft Monitor now delivers VMware (VMW) vSphere performance views. The new Nimsoft Monitor release is designed to provide organizations with more visibility into their IT infrastructures, the company said in a statement.

“IT leaders can no longer be satisfied cobbling together dozens of tools to monitor the health of their infrastructure,” John Smith, CA’s general manager of infrastructure management, said in a prepared statement. “Nimsoft Monitor helps IT pros … [deliver] the best customer experience possible.”

Nimsoft Monitor features a unified architecture for application, database, network and server monitoring. The solution enables organizations to monitor on-premise and cloud-based infrastructures thanks in part to its “plug and play” architecture, CA said.

In addition to vSphere performance views, the new Nimsoft Monitor release features performance trending and root cause analysis capabilities. CA points out this solution provides:

  • Custom monitoring

  • Dynamic thresholds

  • Maintenance mode

  • New dashboards and reports

CA also has launched an updated version of Nimsoft Monitor Snap, a freemium component to its Nimsoft platform. Nimsoft Monitor Snap is free for up to 30 monitored devices, and the newest version of Nimsoft Monitor Snap includes:

  • Dynamic thresholds

  • Maintenance mode

  • Support for applications, databases and storage devices

  • vSphere performance views

Several managed service providers (MSPs) and cloud services providers (CSPs) have leveraged Nimsoft, including Logicalis, Rackspace (RAX) and Savvis. In fact, each of these companies noted CA and Nimsoft have played critical roles in their revenue-generating platforms.
