Apperian Unveils Open API for Enterprise Mobility Platform

Apperian, a mobile application management company that works with managed service providers (MSPs) and supports multi-tenancy, today released an open application programming interface (API) for its enterprise mobility platform. Apperian customers and partners can integrate the open API into their existing exterprise infrastructure and extend their enterprise mobility solutions, Apperian Chief Technology Officer Carlos Montero-Luque said.

“By opening up our APIs, we are now enabling enterprises and partners to leverage our capabilities as a true mobility platform,” Montero-Luque said in a press release. “The API is broad, secure and stable and provides partners and companies with more freedom – which is important in a market like mobility management that’s filled with proprietary approaches.”

AnyPresence, Appcelerator and IBM are just a few of the Apperian partners that are already taking advantage of the open APIs. In fact, Montero-Luque compared Apperian’s decision to release an open API to what Salesforce did with Force.com.

“We offer the flexibility for customers and partners to easily integrate with their existing enterprise infrastructure as well as to offer new and extended capabilities on top of our platform,” Montero-Luque added.

Apperian supports managed service providers (MSPs)  through its Enterprise App Services Environment (EASE) platform. Developers can use this platform to create and distribute secure enterprise apps.

“We support the approach Apperian has taken by opening its platform to partners and enterprises,” said Adam Bookman, co-founder of enterprise mobile app developer Propelics. “This direction saves time and enables the delivery of new value in the market.”

In addition, Apperian partnered with Appthority in 2012. By integrating its EASE platform with Appthority’s cloud platform, Apperian allowed MSPs to identify risks in mobile applications. For a complete explanation of how these platforms work together, click here.
