Tech Data: The distribution behemoth was named Broadline Large Format Display Distributor of the Year by Samsung Electronics America at InfoComm 2012, the annual industry trade show serving the professional audio-visual communications industry worldwide. Selected by Samsung Electronics America, the Samsung Innovation Dealer Awards honor Samsung’s best and brightest commercial display channel partners of the year.

Tech Data’s digital signage specialized business unit maintains more than 200 industry certifications, while providing training and education programs to Tech Data’s resellers to earn certifications as well. As the No. 1 distributor of Samsung’s commercial large format displays, Tech Data also has a vast portfolio of complimentary hardware and software solutions and services to support its resellers’ complete digital signage business.

The distributor also has expanded its HP Solutions Group offering with the addition of HP Integrity and HP ProLiant Generation 8 (Gen8) servers. Tech Data’s HP Solutions Group has also introduced an exclusive new portal, HP Advanced Customer Experience Solution (ACES), which enables HP partners to proactively manage requests, track service levels and receive realtime reporting on all HP enterprise servers, storage and networking configurations.

The expansion of Tech Data’s HP Solutions Group further rounds out the offering in Solution360, a collaboration between Tech Data and HP that delivers complete solutions, unprecedented expertise, all-around service, and conception-to-completion offerings for all of the IT needs of HP channel partners. Tech Data also leverages its HP Solutions Center in Clearwater, which is an HP Cloud Center of Excellence, to enable its partners to access and experience the HP platform firsthand.

Westcon Group: Building on its expertise and vendor relationships in the networking space, Westcon announced a new distribution agreement with VCE enabling them to offer the full portfolio of VCE converged infrastructure systems across Asia Pacific.

VCE was created by Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO) and EMC (NYSE: EMC) – with investments from Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) and VMware (NYSE: VMW).  The VCE Vblock System brings together multiple IT components from Cisco, EMC and VMware into a single, optimized system, including servers, data storage devices, networking equipment and virtualization and management technologies.
