TMI Offers New Tariff Service, Expands Publications

Technologies Management Inc. (Booth 327), a regulatory consulting firm for telecommunications providers, now offers expanded publications to help carriers comply with state and federal requirements. Also new from TMI is Tariffs.net, which the company describes as a simple, convenient solution for telecom companies to post rates, terms and conditions on the Internet. The electronic posting of this information is required by the FCC and an ever increasing number of state commissions.

Expanded publications available from TMI include Carrier Recurring Customer Notice Requirements, which provides information about the requirements in an electronic format; Credit, Billing and Disconnection Rules Handbook, which provides information on how to bill and collect for services provided by local, toll and operator services companies; Preferred Carrier Change Requirements, which offers information to help carriers prevent unauthorized carrier changes and provides FCC and state rules, processes and penalties. TMI also offers the Telecommunications Funds Matrix which details state and federal universal service and similar funds applicable to local and interexchange carriers. Carriers can identify which funds affect their operations, which contributions need to be tariffed and which surcharges need to be shown as a separate line item on the end user’s bill. The matrix is deeply discounted for carriers currently using TMI’s full Compliance Reporting Services.

As for Tariffs.net, several service options will allow customers of this service to make necessary information available for in-house use for marketing and operations departments, as well as provide public information with appropriate security protections in place. TMI is demonstrating Tariffs.net service at their booth.
