iPhone, Eh? Skype Comes to Canada

Break out the Moosehead: Just-sold over the top VoIP provider Skype is now available from the App Store for Canadian iPhones, for free.

Available for iPhone in the U.S. for sometime, Skype had been blocked by Canadian technical restrictions.

For voice it only works over Wi-Fi, but calls are free to other Skype users. An additional subscription service allows users to place calls to non-Skype users, be they mobile or landline users.

Users can also send instant messages via Wi-Fi or cell network.
