Cloud backup solutions provider Intronis has appointed Aaron Dun as the company’s first chief marketing officer (CMO). Here's what his background and experience tell us about what he will bring to the company.

Cloud backup company Intronis has appointed Aaron Dun as the company’s first chief marketing officer (CMO) today. The company said it created the role and appointed Dun to further its growth and partner development plans.

Dun will be responsible for leading the company’s go-to-market strategy while working closely with the company’s sales organization and leadership team to scale demand-generation efforts, raise the company’s brand visibility, and build on Intronis’ cloud backup software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution and partner program.

The company said Dun has a reputation for developing and executing high-impact marketing programs geared specifically for fast growth, venture-funded companies and larger publicly-traded global organizations. His past experience includes an extensive background in content marketing, digital marketing and demand-generation strategies for business-to-business (B2B) technology companies, Intronis said.

Dun told MSPmentor that Intronis will continue to offer its white-label solution to partners, and its go-to-market strategy will not change.

“Channel partners bring that critical blend of personal touch, local knowledge and business expertise that is critical for success in the SMB market,” he said. “My goal is to work closely with our channel partners to help them accelerate their businesses and best serve the needs of their end customers.

“I am excited to join Rick and the team, and work together to create high-impact marketing programs that will align with our sales efforts, clearly differentiate us from the competition, and deliver a unique and exceptional partner experience,” he said. Dun will report directly to Intronis CEO Rick Faulk, who recently participated in Talkin’ Cloud’s Friday’s Last Word.

Before joining Intronis, Dun served as the vice president of marketing and strategy for Percussion Software, where he led the business to a stronger focus on new product innovation and market direction. Before Percussion, he led marketing behind Ness Technologies, Lionbridge Technologies and Softscape, which was acquired by SumTotal.

“Aaron is a strategic, results-driven marketing leader with the unique credentials we were looking for in a CMO,” said Faulk in a prepared statement. “His ingenuity and success in enabling software companies to integrate their marketing and sales efforts to achieve maximum results, while disrupting the competitive landscape and delivering a great customer experience is well documented.”

Intronis’ partner program is available to managed services providers (MSPs), value-added resellers (VARS) and IT professionals.
