Autotask has officially entered the remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform market. The East Greenbush, New York-based professional services automation (PSA) platform provider has launched a cloud-based RMM platform, Autotask Endpoint Management (AEM), for managed service providers (MSPs).

This platform represents Autotask’s first venture into the RMM market after its acquisition of software-as-a-service-based (SaaS-based) RMM platform provider CentraStage in September.

Autotask said AEM gives MSPs greater visibility and control of all customer endpoints over any network across Android, Linux, iOS, OSX and Windows operating systems.

AEM also allows MSPs to manage customers’ networked devices, servers and smartphones remotely, according to Autotask.

Other AEM features include:

  • Automatic round-trip ticket generation and alert closure

  • Discovery, population and continual updating of all managed assets in Autotask’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

  • Ticket and remote takeover (RTO) integration

  • SNMP monitoring

  • Software management policies for mobile devices

“Autotask is dedicated to providing a platform that both meets and exceeds our customers’ expectations for simplicity, reliability and scalability,” Ian van Reenen, Autotask’s general manager of endpoint management engineering, said in a prepared statement. “Our goal with this release is to showcase the power of our integration and provide exceptional value to our customers by improving their overall business and service operations with a more effective and efficient way to manage endpoints across their entire IT estate.”

AEM is now available for all English-speaking countries, Autotask said, with additional languages scheduled for release throughout 2015.

Autotask CEO Mark Cattini earlier this year told MSPmentor that his company also will unveil new integrations between its PSA platform and CentraStage next year.

“We view Autotask as a platform, and a really critical piece of functionality is RMM. We’re going to rethink what RMM and PSA can be. You’ll see pretty soon some new integrated releases, and early in the new year, you’ll see some really innovative ways of thinking about what these two technologies can be,” he said.
