In a savvy move, D&H Distributing on Tuesday said that Jason Bystrak will fill the role of vice president, for its newly created cloud business unit.

The IT and channel veteran worked for Ingram Micro Cloud for 22 years, where he took the lead on building and executing the distributor’s cloud computing business plan. When he left Ingram Micro Cloud a year ago, he was the global executive director for technology partner enablement. He followed that up with a short stint at Axcient as vice president, worldwide channels and distribution.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Jason Bystrak into the fold at D&H Distributing. His considerable skills and proven business acumen in the areas of cloud and managed services will add a new dynamic to our cloud strategy,” said Peter DiMarco, vice president of VAR sales at D&H Distributing. “We look forward to working together to accelerate the growth of D&H’s cloud offering, creating an evolving menu of resources for resellers who want to pursue a profitable hosted services model.”

Bystrak will report to DiMarco, as part of the VAR team.

As vice president of the cloud business unit for D&H, Bystrak will be responsible for the strategy and execution of the company’s cloud and managed services business. He’ll lead a team charged with driving results through best-in-class solution development, technical sales and marketing campaigns to enable partners, operational excellence, and financial planning and management.

Bystrak plans to rally around people, processes and partners, or what he calls “the three P’s.”

“We’re looking to make the right investments in personnel, in optimizing our Cloud Marketplace platform, and in the engagement of our solution-provider partners. That will include an emphasis on the internal team, and on our efforts to furnish resellers and managed service providers with effective sales strategies,” he said.

Here’s our list of channel people on the move in January.

Additionally, his plans include developing future resources to support partners and help them bring compelling offerings to market.

“The overall objective is to build an integrated cloud solution portfolio, deliver it through an easy-to-use operational platform, and give our MSPs and VARs the tools they need to execute winning sales and marketing campaigns capitalizing on these emerging opportunities,” he said.

The D&H cloud business unit will focus on cultivating ongoing resources to help resellers grow their cloud services business. The distributor has made some recent cloud initiatives, such as the addition of cloud applications broker SaaSMAX to is portfolio, signing agreements to offer Dropbox Business’ cloud-based SMB storage platform and Nimble’s hosted CRM solutions.

Cloud solutions and the new cloud business unit are a vital element of D&H’s Solutions and Services program, launched last year to assemble and deliver end-to-end enablement resources to VARs. An assortment of services and solution pillars is designed to support the capabilities of SMB VARs, helping them to grow their business and enter new markets — including hosted services.

Cloud, device as a service, hosted collaboration and digital signage all fall under the auspices of D&H’s Solutions and Services effort.
