Nominet on Tuesday unveiled Velocity Partnership, a new global cybersecurity partner program for many partner types, including VARs, MSSPs and SIs.

Partners will be able to capitalize on the “significant market momentum” of the Nominet NTX network detection and response solution since its debut last December, according to the company. The three-tiered program is designed to meet industry demand for “simpler, more rewarding programs,” it said.

David Polton, Nominet’s vice president of solutions, tells us Velocity is his company’s first formal global partner program and will allow partners to take advantage of a previously untapped source of “rich information within their architecture for security, the domain name system (DNS) layer.”

“Nominet has worked with the channel before — for example, with entities such as Bytes (Security Partnership) and Credence Security,” he said. “However, Velocity allows us to formally lay out our commitment to partners, in terms both the training and development, as well as the rewards and rebates that are on offer. This will not only allow partners to tap into the network detection and response opportunity much more easily, but it’ll also allow us to work with different types of partners and put in place a structure that leads them to commercial success and growth.”

Tier 1 power partners have been through both technical engineer and sales training, and receive the highest rebates and discounts, as well as access to co-marketing funds. Tier 2 accelerate partners have participated in Nominet’s sales training session, and tier 3 motion partners are at the entry level of their relationship with the company.

If partners make power status within a year, all deals within that time will be retrospectively rewarded.

“The Velocity partner program will offer better incentives and more support to all types of partners,” Polton said. “Nominet has unparalleled experience and technical resources given its history in running the U.K. internet infrastructure, and will be drawing on this to give partners the support and development opportunities they need to maximize opportunities. This is particularly important as the network detection and response sector picks up momentum as a way to identify, combat and respond to threats.”

By formalizing its structure, reward and rebate systems, as well as any additional incentives and support available, the system can be rolled out simply across Nominet’s partner network through the new partner portal, the company said.

“The security industry is flooded with vendors and often this makes it difficult for partners to differentiate both technology and partner programs,” Polton said. “Velocity is designed to help partners tap into Nominet’s expertise to understand its differentiators and to enhance partner ability to sell into the network detection and response market. We’re offering technical and sales training across the various partner tiers, and these translate into rebates and discounts for all of our partners.”

“We’ve worked with Nominet for a number of years and will benefit immensely from the formalized new Velocity Partnership program,” said Dave Rawle, Bytes‘ CTO “We’ve had an exceptionally collaborative and successful relationship to date, and the new training and incentives will only enhance that. By creating a process that can be replicated and maximized for other organizations, the true value of the new Velocity Partnership program will be felt.”
