Channel Partner Program Roundup: Trend Micro, OneNeck IT Solutions, Absolute Software

Congratulations on making to through the majority of the week, Roundup Rangers, and thanks for joining us. This week we’ve got some interesting developments from our friends over at Trend Micro, OneNeck IT Solutions and Absolute Software (ABT).

Trend Micro: Security solutions provider Trend Micro entered into an OEM agreement with Hewlett-Packard (HP) to help enterprises combat targeted threats and malware. The new HP TippingPoint Advanced Threat Appliance family combined with Trend Micro Deep Discovery is expected to provide customers with a single integrated solution to prevent and detect suspicious activity, according to the announcement.

“We are very pleased to have been selected by HP after its comprehensive and rigorous review of market-leading breach detection systems,” said Partha Panda, vice president of global channels and alliances at Trend Micro, in a statement. “This agreement further validates the quality and effectiveness of our solution. Now, HP customers can detect, block and investigate targeted attacks with a comprehensive, integrated solution.”

The HP TippingPoint Advanced Threat Appliance will be available in early 2015 from HP and its channel partners, although no exact release date has been announced.

OneNeck IT Solutions: OneNeck IT has earned Gold level status within the F5 Networks (FFIV) UNITY partner program, the company announced this week. The solution provider had previously been a Silver level partner in F5’s partner program.

“Achieving F5 Gold status allows us to provide excellent service to customers and ensures we’re on the cutting-edge of application security services,” said Terry Swanson, senior vice president, Solution Providers, at OneNeck. “This effort to become Gold certified further demonstrates the value we place on ensuring our employees continually receive training and accreditations.”

OneNeck believes achieving Gold status will allow the company to begin developing specializations to grow their business and reach higher levels of customer retention, according to the announcement. OneNeck is now also eligible to offer F5’s entire product line to customers and will receive access to the F5 Partner Resource Center as Gold level partners.

Absolute Software: Endpoint security and management solutions provider Absolute Software has signed a partnership with Latin American computer manufacturer Positivo Informática to embed its Absolute persistence technology into the firmware of Positivo devices.

Customers are expected to benefit from a persistent connection to their devices so they can monitor and secure enterprise solutions both on and off the corporate network, according to the announcement.

“Positivo is one the world’s largest computer manufacturers, and their presence in Latin America is well recognized,” said Geoff Haydon, CEO at Absolute Software. “This partnership gives us the opportunity to bring our technology and comprehensive security solutions to a priority market, working with a respected manufacturer to grow our presence in this strategic region.”
